Terms & Conditions
- The Participant understands and accepts that St. Mark’s School Foundation Limited (the “Organizer”) is the organizer of the 2021 Virtual Walkathon (the “Event”). Unless the context provides otherwise, the use of “we”, “our” and “us” refer to the Organizer, and the use of “you” and “your” refer to the Participant in these Terms & Conditions.
- The Participant must study these event rules and regulations carefully before registration. Upon submission of your application of entry, the Participant is deemed to have accepted and shall strictly adhere to all the Terms and Conditions of the Event, the Official Rules as stipulated and all announcements and guidelines that may be introduced by us from time to time.
- The Participant agrees that he/she will observe all local rules and regulations, pertaining to the containment of the pandemic and will not flout any laws pertaining to wearing masks, maintaining social distances, non-contact and other such measures that may be put in place at all times. It is expected all instructions to be followed and safety measures adhered to from time to time in the best interest of your health and event safety.

- We reserve the right to request the Participant to provide further proof of identity and entry submissions as we deem necessary. If the Participant fails or refuses to provide the requested information, we reserve the right to cancel the entry and/or participation of the Participant.
- The Participant consents to the use of their name, result, image, photographs, video and comments in any school publications and for the compilation of statistical information in relation to this Event by us.
- The Participant declares and warrants that he/she is physically fit to join the Event. The participant acknowledges that he/she will participate and complete the desired distance in a manner chosen by him/her, at locations chosen by him/her and at his/her own risk. The Event is a virtual event and we will not provide volunteers, marshals or medical personnel assistance to any participant.
- The Participant understands and agrees that participation in the Event is voluntary and at the own risk of the Participant. We are not liable for any loss or disappointment suffered by the Participant for taking part or not being able to take part in this Event. Each participant agrees to absolve us from any and all liabilities arising from bodily injuries, illness, accidents, death or other losses that might occur as a result of his/her participation in the Event.
- All walking records must be uploaded to the event platform during the designated event period, and will be forfeited afterwards. The Organizer will check and verify all records uploaded by the Participant. The Organizer reserves the right to cancel any deceiving record.
- All information provided by the Participant in the registration form must be true and accurate.
- In the event of unforeseen circumstances, we may alter, amend or cancel the Event without prior notice. We reserve the right to change these terms at any time. Should there be disputes, we reserve the right to come to any final decision.
Use of Personal Data
We respect your legal rights of privacy. By using this website and enrolling in the Event, you consent to the
collection and use of your information and personal data by us for all lawful purposes related to the fundraising
activities including administration and promotion of this Event. The purposes for which we may use the
information and personal data collected include but are not limited to:
a. replying to your enquiry or feedback;
b. processing your requests;
c. processing and confirming your participation in the Event;
d. processing and managing your donations;
e. issuing your receipt;
f. announcing results
g. communicating with you about Event-related announcements;
h. verification of your identity; and
i. event publicity (including publication of Event related content on our website and in our publications)
Participate in the Event
- Register for the event. A confirmation email with a registration number will be sent within two days once you have successfully registered.
- Invite relatives and friends to sponsor your walk. No minimum donation is required. All donations above HK$100 will be tax-deductible. Send a crossed cheque (payable to “St. Mark’s School Foundation Limited”) to St. Mark’s School Foundation Limited (c/o St. Mark’s School, 18 Oi Yin Street, Aldrich Bay, Shaukeiwan, Hong Kong) before 22 November 2021.
- Download any app which helps to track/collect your walking data (time, route, distance and number of footsteps).
- Plan your walk. Complete your walk anywhere and at any time between 22 November to 3 December 2021. Remember to take photos.
- Screencap the data and upload to the link provided.
- If you are unable to join us, a donation would be most gratefully appreciated.
If you join as a group, the maximum number of participants in a group is FOUR. Assign a group leader for registration and uploading the result.
